Bored with a sandy beach? Then let’s go to Kolbano beach. A unique beach studded with colorful pebbles. Kolbano is a village in the southern coast of the Timor island, East Nusa Tenggara. It is about 130 kilo metres from the capital of Kupang. Geographically, this beautiful beach is very near to Australia. The distance of the port of Kolbano with the Kangaroo Country is only 147 kilometres.
Kolbano Beach has its own uniqueness if compared with others. A beach usually has white sand or other colors on the edge, but Kolbano is different. On the edge of the beach is speckled with colorful pebble which as big as little finger up to the fist.
Other uniqueness of this beach is that you can see the sunrise and sunset from the same place. So it's not surprising if this became the favorite locations of photographers who like to hunt that beautiful moments. On that beach, there is also many tourists who have a picnic.
It’s also special for you who want a quiet vacation atmosphere and away from the urban bustle. While having picnic, you can see the beauty of the sea. In the area of Kolbano Beach, visitors can see a monument built to commemorate historic events of the war of the Kolbano between the local people against the Netherlands occurred in 1907. But the condition is seen for what it is. For now, there is no Government effort to beautify this historic monument.
